Another reported swine flu case just entered the area of UAE, and this time an Expat most probably came from vacation abroad.
The woman, an expatriate resident in the UAE, returned from abroad on Friday, and is being treated at a hospital.
The ministry had earlier announced two new cases of H1N1, in addition to the first two cases.

Online Vehicle Registration and Driving License Renewal Services Launched by RTA

The Land and Trasportation Authority (RTA) just announced the launched its two new online service that will make the life of every motorist easy. An online vehicle registration and driving license renewal are the latest innovation introduced by RTA.
The aim of launching the e-service is to provide more option to motorists and reduce trips to customer service centres, said Ahmad Bahrouzyan, CEO of newly established Licensing Agency at RTA. more story on Gulfnews…
“Introduction of driving licenses and vehicle registration renewal services online is meant to open up new and diverse channels for dealing with clients and help them avail of the range of services rendered by the agency such that the transaction can be electronically processed from any site at home, office or a commercial center. Dubai newest Bus Routes

A new bus route was launched by Dubai’s Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) to improve its public bus service. The new bus will carry the number C-28 and its destination will start from Gold Souq Bus Station to Al Mamzar Park via Baniyas Road, Deira Taxi Station, Al Muraqqabat Road, Abu Hail and Al Wuheida Road.
“We are expanding and upgrading bus services to cope with the increasing demand of passengers due to urban growth,” said Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, Director of Bus Department at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

Dubai homeowners go on offensive

Two dozens discontent residents of the Discovery Gardens gathered together to petition for more transparency and better property management services.
“We want to make it very clear to Nakheel that if they don’t fulfil their agreement as to what is stipulated on their turnaround times for maintenance, then we want our money back,” said Michael Aldendorff, 39, an apartment owner in the 50,000-resident community who helped organise the demonstration. “Either they serve us the next year for free, and they improve their maintenance substantially, or they give us back the money that we’ve already paid in maintenance fees.”

Reducing the fear of HIV spread

In Ras Al Khaimah, health officials are doubling their effort to reduce the fears of the residents who lives in Ghaleelah and nearby areas of possible HIV contamination due to earlier reports that a barber found positive carrying the deadly virus.
Al Amiri, Director of the Medical Practices and Licensing Department at the Ministry of Health, said the Ministry of Health has been implementing preventive measures that have proven effective in protecting society against the spread of diseases, especially those that are deadly and communicable. Commenting on the case of the 38-year-old barber, Al Amiri said his records show that he entered the UAE in 2005 and tested negative to HIV in an earlier examination conducted when he applied for a residency visa.

Cutdown in Dubai Government Fees

No fee increase and twenty to thirty percent cutdown on several department of Dubai Government was ordered by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
These include, among others, fees for the issuance and renewal of trade and professional licences, licences for business promotions, property ownership certificates, termination of tenancy contracts for ownership, transferring buildings into hotels or serviced apartments, and making alterations to commercial buildings.

Sharjah police honoured staff

Thirty eight policemen were honored by the head of Operations Department at the Sharja Police, Colonel Eid Al Madhloum and Director Relations and Moral Guidance, Colonel Abdullah Sulatn Mohamed.

Swine flu patient has recovered

The man who infected by a Swine Virus who came from Canada and landed in Abu Dhabi has now recovered from a very contigious virus. He was discharged on Wednesday from Tawam Hospital after 10 days of treatment.
The patient was discharged on Wednesday from Tawam Hospital after 10 days of treatment and attention, said Dr Ali Ahmed bin Shakar, the director general of the Ministry of Health.
“The relatives of the patient are doing well and do not show any symptoms of swine flu,” he said. “Hence, it is unlikely they contracted the disease.”

Hot weather beats 15-year record

After 15 years, Oasis City or Al Ains’ temperature broke the record by registering 48 degrees Celsius last Thursday overshooting the 45 degree celsius registered last 1994 while in Dubai the registered temperature is 45.
A weatherman at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said the conditions are very hot but not unusual. May is generally a hot month of the year in which humidity level also goes down. The maximum high temperature in Dubai on Thursday is 45 degree Celsius.
He said the conditions will remain hot to very hot in general in the next 24 hours in the country with hazy conditions at times.
