In Ras Al Khaimah, health officials are doubling their effort to reduce the fears of the residents who lives in Ghaleelah and nearby areas of possible HIV contamination due to earlier reports that a barber found positive carrying the deadly virus.
Al Amiri, Director of the Medical Practices and Licensing Department at the Ministry of Health, said the Ministry of Health has been implementing preventive measures that have proven effective in protecting society against the spread of diseases, especially those that are deadly and communicable. Commenting on the case of the 38-year-old barber, Al Amiri said his records show that he entered the UAE in 2005 and tested negative to HIV in an earlier examination conducted when he applied for a residency visa.
